La couronne de fresques gréco-andines au sommet de l'Arc de Triomphe jaillit au-dessus de la cime des arbres qui bordent l'avenue que je monte en direction de la Place de l'Etoile.
A mesure que j'approche, attiré par ce courant du futur qui gronde sur le pavé, j'appuie sur le champignon pour imposer mon passage autour du rond point et passer d'une branche à l'autre de l'Etoile.
« C'est une force centrifuge qui vous expulse vers la périphérie si vous tentez de passer par le centre, et vous attire sur sa tangente si vous passez là où se croisent votre route et ses rayons », dit mon passager exalté.
Et l'Etoile en son centre est immobile, figée au dernier instant du soldat inconnu, sur son dernier souffle, sur sa dernière pulsation tandis que la Terre continue de tourner.
